Lineage of Masters

Approximately 300 years ago 12 masters of various styles conferred and shared their knowledge and experience to develop one superior kung fu fighting system. One which combined the best of all their martial arts styles but with new concepts of fighting techniques that included the generation of inner power. It took them 20 years before they were satisfied with the result which is today’s Wu Xing Dao System. There is a direct lineage from those founding Masters to today's Master Marko Vesse.

Today's Wu Xing Dao Training

Wu Xing Dao (Woo Shing Dao) training today emphasizes internal energy generation, conservation and explosive release in physical combat. Invisible Master is a training concept derived from WXD.

The movements of WXD are relaxed and free flowing with practitioners expressing their techniques spontaneously and automatically. With a limited number of simple components an infinite variety of combinations are possible, soon becoming very fast and powerful. Regular practice of the Invisible Master technique progressively reprograms the student's nervous system so that attacking and defensive movements become instinctive and instantaneous.

A unique feature of WXD is the development and expression of "elastic power". If one imagines the energy stored in a powerfully compressed spring suddenly being released, it conveys some concept of the internally stored energy of this martial art being expressed.

Because of the emphasis on muscular relaxation during the training movements, internal energy is rapidly generated and stored. This internal generation and accumulation of chi leaves the student energized instead of fatigued despite the speed of the movements and power that is expressed. However when used in the velocity of a blow the point of impact on an opponent's body creates an explosive release of energy that causes internal damage.

Applied Wu Xing Dao

Today the results of the early Masters can be applied to every form of sport or physical activity that benefits from energy accumulation, conservation and the delivery of explosive power at great speed. Today’s training develops the ability of the body to both deliver and absorb great shock and heavy blows without injury to itself.

The training also rejuvenates the body by repairing and promoting cell activity through improved blood circulation and by flooding the body with oxygen. This rapid accumulation of energy and improved health and fitness, make possible the split second reaction times that are typical of this martial art. Because of the beneficial effect WXD training has on the body's energy system, there are no age or sex limitations on those wishing to participate.

Living Proof

All claims made concerning the training can be scientifically proven and personally demonstrated by the Master Marko Vesse and other instructors within the System.

The exercises of WXD are all based upon an understanding of the body and are specific in dealing with:

The Respiratory System.
The Cardiovascular System.
The Muscular System.
Endurance and Fatigue.
Mental Development.
Synergistic Co-ordination for Maximum Performance.

The techniques are all economical, effective and have multiple uses.

Wu Xing Dao techniques:

Can be practiced alone.
Require no equipment.
Require no gymnasiums.
Increase bodily tolerance to impact.
Improve explosive momentum.
Increase well-being.
Increase awareness.

Steel Body

Steel Body training makes the body tolerant to blows or collisions from outside forces and allows it to respond naturally and instantly. Incoming force from a strike or kick is diverted in the same way a car tyre under pressure will cause a heavy blow to rebound when struck with no damage to itself. With Steel Body Training, your muscle fiber becomes more elastic and durable. It also conditions the tendons and muscular shell of the body and its organs so that they do not vibrate under impact thus protecting them from injury. If any damage is sustained, recovery is rapid with healing occurring in weeks instead of months.

Steel Hands

Wu Xing Dao Students who develop steel hand technique during the course of their training do so without damaging the hands or needing to build up calluses to protect them, the student's hands become capable of considerable damage. Despite their strength and resilience one's hands and body appear quite normal in every respect.

Blows can be delivered with great speed. The Master Instructor has been videotaped delivering 11 punches within one second while a current student after only 8 months training is delivering 9 punches in one second whilst maintaining full reach and full power.

Stages of Training

All training is conducted on a personal one-to one basis. Each individual is taught according to his or her own capacities. A typical sequence of development would be as follows:

  • Three months: developing explosive punches and kicks.
  • Six months: body becomes tolerant to impact and can withstand multiple strikes without injury. Speed movements are coordinated, spraying in all possible directions against opponents.
  • Twelve months: penetration capability is achieved; able to break stones, etc.. Ability to control and disrupt opponent's power and movements and cause internal damage.

Lightning System

Lightning system teaches the student that every part of an opponent can be a target. Strikes are delivered in a constant stream of blows, with lightning speed (hence the name).

Jamie gives us a great example of what can be achieved in just 8 months. Not only is his martial arts deadly but he is seen here delivering 33 full range speed punches in just 3 seconds.

With speed punching, power must come from the body. This way all strikes will be affective in a multiplicity of ways. This example demonstrates timing and the control of power.

Once your hands are conditioned, a bag filled with ball bearings offers the best practice for penetrative speed training. After this, strikes will truly damage your opponent internally.

Master Vesse combines Chen style Tai Chi with Wu Xing Dao and gives a visual example of internal speed. Check out 'One Month with Master Wong' to see more.

Dedicated students test their power after a challenging 2 month Steel Body course. Their bodies become virtually impervious to punches or kicks. After this you become quite a fearless martial artist. 'Don't try this at home' Disclaimer.
